Kevin Smith

Chairman

Kevin Smith brings over 25 years of experience in roles as operating partner, board director, interim executive management, management consulting, and operations management.  Experience includes a broad range of industries and improvement areas, including strategic planning, marketing and sales, product development, operations, and foundational infrastructure, having worked with over 50 companies, ranging in size from $10M to $8B in revenue.  Common focus across positions has been developing an integrated, cross-functional platform for growth and accelerated business performance, under lean resource availability. Kevin is currently Chairman and Operating Partner on Global HR Research and Republic Elite Interiors and was most recently an Operating Partner and Board member for Formation Brands. Before these roles, Kevin was a founding partner of CRG Partners Group and previously with management consulting firm George Group (now Accenture). Kevin received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Brandon Phillips

President & CEO

Brandon Phillips developed the concept behind Global HR Research after he recognized the need for better security in corporate human resources. He is responsible for developing and implementing corporate growth strategies, managing the overall operations and resources of the company, overseeing sales and marketing strategy, and acts as the main point of communication between the chairman, investors, and the corporate operations. Mr. Phillips has guided the growth of numerous projects from planning and development to sustainability. He is a recipient of Gulfshore Business magazine's "Top 40 Under 40" for entrepreneurial successes and featured in numerous publications on the subject matter of talent screening and selection. He has led Global HR Research to a top ranking by HRO Today's Magazine of America's leading background screening and assessment providers. Mr. Phillips, a frequent guest speaker, has a proven track record of successfully maximizing cutting-edge business concepts in start-up ventures and possesses a strong understanding of consumer and investor needs. He has grown Global HR Research to host a client base that includes Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, governmental agencies, and health care among others. Mr. Phillips coaches youth basketball, donates time and expertise to nonprofit organizations and is an active member of multiple chambers and economic development organizations.

David W. Matre

Chief Financial Officer

David Matre brings over 25 years of corporate finance, accounting, treasury and operations experience to his role of Chief Financial Officer at Global HR Research. Mr. Matre’s broad based finance and accounting background includes executive roles in startup, high growth and public company environments. He has led numerous venture capital and private equity backed companies through dynamic growth cycles, implemented scalable financial systems, closed equity and debt financing rounds, and executed both buy and sell side M&A transactions. With significant experience in both the software and B2B technology services sectors, he partners with executive teams to continually drive profitable revenue growth, enhance productivity and increase enterprise value. Mr. Matre holds a Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.

Eric Higginbotham

Chief Technology Officer

Eric Higginbotham, founder of Vireo Technology (now known as Taleo) has joined Global HR Research as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  Eric brings over 20 years of experience in technology as a Developer, Database Administrator, IT Administrator, and Technology Leader. He firmly established his seasoned career as Vice President of Research and Development for Vurv Technology, where he was instrumental in building Vurv/Taleo into a leading provider of Human Capital solutions. Following his successful tenure at Vurv/Taleo Eric transitioned his highly valued experience to Black Diamond Performance Reporting as the Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. During his time at Black Diamond, he helped grow the organization and modernized their legacy technology with a bias towards performance, availability, and security. The later positions, experience, and skillsets perfectly positioned Eric to serve select organizations, including Global HR Research, as a Consultative CTO through Viero. He led various organizations through the technical aspects of due diligence, ensuring technology was designed to support business plans effectively, and adding safeguards to prevent overbuilding, or needlessly exposing the buyer to risk.

Joseph Doyle

Senior Vice President of Sales

Joseph Doyle brings 18 years of experience driving revenue growth and enhancing brand awareness for Software as a Service (SaaS) technology companies to Global HR Research. A proven executive sales leader, Mr. Doyle, helped usher background screening companies American Background and TalentWise from regional, obscure companies into Top 10 and Top 5 global providers respectively resulting in acquisitions by the same industry competitor. He also prepared and led corporate-wide sales efforts for market growth and brand capitalization with startup GoodHire and veterans ESS and Applicant Insight. In addition to achieving FRCA and Advanced FCRA certifications, Mr. Doyle has held board positions with staffing associations and spoken at various conferences regarding compliance and best practices in background screening. His areas of expertise include major corporate transformations encompassing sales strategy, new client acquisition, sales process, and client relationship management.

Warren Taylor

Senior Vice President of Operations

Warren Taylor is leading the aggressive growth of GHRR’s operational infrastructure to ensure that services are delivered seamlessly and with the highest regard for speed and accuracy. Taylor has more than 25 years of operational experience, 10 of which are in domestic and international background screening. Most recently, Taylor spent 10 years with HireRight, a GHRR background check competitor, integrating its acquired platforms and implementing change management strategies to reduce supplier expenses and improve customer service, market performance, operational efficiencies, metrics-based fulfillment, and capital asset allocation. He now leverages all these skill sets with a single goal: to establish an even higher benchmark for GHRR’s operations. Before joining HireRight, he led successful product development and marketing teams for LexisNexis Risk Solutions (formerly known as ChoicePoint) Information Group for over 10 years. Taylor’s 25 years of domestic and international experience play a critical role in ensuring that customers will never have to worry about whether GHRR will continue to provide best-in-class service. Taylor earned a BS degree from Southern Utah University and Pragmatic marketing certification to support strategic product development.

J Christine Feeley

Vice President of Marketing

Christine Feeley leads Global HR’s marketing team supporting all of our sales channels including the strategic design, implementation, and management of our advanced inbound lead generation initiatives to support both our technical partners and direct business. She brings a blended career of both large advertising agency, and corporate experience – including over 20 years of marketing experience in Business to business, regulated environments including technology, telecom, and healthcare. She has led both publicly traded and privately held companies as the CMO responsible for new customer acquisition, retention, and new product development and roll-outs – with one goal – accelerated revenue growth. Christine is a graduate of the University of Iowa in Business with an emphasis in marketing communications.

Charlie Talbott

Vice President of Integrations and Infrastructure

Charlie Talbott brings over 25 years of Information Technology leadership to Global HR Research. Mr. Talbott holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from James Madison University and an MS in Management Information Systems from George Mason University. He started his career as an application developer and quickly worked his way up to leadership roles within companies such as Arthur Andersen, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and First Advantage. Throughout his career, Mr. Talbott has gained expertise in the design and delivery of cost-effective, high-performance technology solutions in support of rapid global growth. He is experienced in all phases of the project life cycle, from initial feasibility analysis and conceptual design through implementation and enhancement.
